Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 August 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Sea Licensing platform, you agree to these Terms of Service and any policies referenced within them. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.

2. About Sea Licensing

Sea Licensing provides an online maritime careers and recruitment platform connecting seafarers, employers, crewing companies, and other maritime industry participants.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, Sea Licensing does not guarantee employment, vessel placement, recruitment outcomes, certification approval, visa approval, or the accuracy of information supplied by another user.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and current information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity carried out through your account.

You must not create accounts using false identities, misleading employer information, fraudulent documents, or information belonging to another person without authorization.

4. Seafarer Profiles and Documents

Seafarers are responsible for ensuring that information uploaded to their profiles, including certificates, licenses, sea service records, passports, seaman books, qualifications, and employment history, is genuine and accurate.

Sea Licensing may review, request clarification about, restrict, or remove information that appears inaccurate, fraudulent, unlawful, misleading, or inconsistent.

5. Employers and Vacancies

Employers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of vacancies, salary information, vessel details, company information, recruitment requirements, and communications published through the platform.

Employers must not publish fraudulent vacancies, impersonate another company, misrepresent employment conditions, or use the platform for unlawful recruitment activity.

6. Recruitment and Employment

A vacancy, application, shortlist, interview, message, or offer displayed on Sea Licensing does not itself form an employment contract unless the relevant parties enter into a separate valid agreement.

Users should independently review employment contracts, company credentials, vessel information, applicable maritime regulations, and any financial or legal obligations before accepting employment.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not misuse the platform, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with platform security, distribute malware, scrape restricted information, send abusive or fraudulent messages, upload unlawful content, or use Sea Licensing to facilitate fraud or other illegal activity.

8. Account Suspension or Removal

Sea Licensing may suspend, restrict, or remove accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected fraud, enforce these Terms, comply with legal obligations, or protect the security and integrity of the platform.

9. Intellectual Property

The Sea Licensing name, website design, platform software, branding, and original platform content remain protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Users retain ownership of content they lawfully upload, while granting Sea Licensing the limited permissions necessary to store, process, display, and transmit that content as required to operate the platform.

10. Platform Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, technical failures, security incidents, hosting issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control may temporarily affect access.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sea Licensing is not responsible for losses arising solely from the conduct of independent users, inaccurate information supplied by third parties, failed employment negotiations, rejected applications, or decisions made by employers or seafarers outside the platform.

12. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when necessary to reflect platform changes, legal requirements, security improvements, or new services. The updated date will be shown on this page.
